Why Longeye · Responsibility

For those who seek the truth.

The point of Longeye is to build a more accountable justice system, where both sides can navigate the facts to find a rightful conviction or exoneration. We invest heavily in walking our talk.

“Investigators are going to use technology to get through the amount of evidence they now face. For agency leaders, the question is whether that work happens inside a system where you can control the data, reconstruct what happened, and verify the result. That is the standard departments need as AI becomes part of investigative work.”

Equal justice

Faster for investigators can't mean buried for defenders.

Both sides need the tools that unearth the truth. So we put our money where our mouth is: a grant program that puts the full Longeye platform in public defender offices. So you can stop debating who is using what technology, and move on to the facts of the case.

Transparency

Human-centric investigation keeps your investigators one click away from the source evidence at all times.

  1. Every sentence is sourced

Anything the system writes is one click from the evidence it came from.

  2. Reviewed section by section

The investigator accepts or rejects each section of a draft. Nothing goes in by default.

  3. Everything is logged

Every action, by a person or the system, in an audit log your agency can pull.

  4. Originals stay untouched

Longeye works on copies. No one can edit a piece of original evidence.

  5. Disclosure on every page

A report says where the technology assisted, page by page, and the first draft is kept.

  6. The author attests

The author types "I attest" before a report leaves. Friction on purpose.

Accountability

We advocate for stronger requirements for vendors to help the justice system apply new technologies responsibly.

Our CEO, Guillaume Delepine, served on the subject matter expert group that helped develop California POST's 2026 Artificial Intelligence Guidelines. We're glad to help agencies, councils, and lawmakers working through the same questions.

Frequently asked questions

Accountability and the courtroom

How does Longeye keep AI accountable in an investigation?

An investigator never sees writing the system drafted without being one click from the underlying evidence. Every action in the product, by a person or the system, is written to an audit log your agency can pull. Original evidence cannot be edited by anyone. And when the system helps draft a report, the report says so on every page and the author types an attestation before it leaves.

How does Longeye support California SB 524?

Exported reports carry an AI-use disclosure aligned with California SB 524. Investigators review each section of a draft and type an attestation before export, and the audit trail records who did what.

Will AI-assisted findings hold up in court?

Longeye surfaces evidence. It does not make decisions. Every finding cites its exact source so the investigator can verify it, exported reports carry an AI-use disclosure, and the audit trail shows who did what. What gets used in a proceeding stays the investigator's and prosecutor's call.

Can public defenders use Longeye?

Yes. Through the Public Defense Grant Program, Longeye has funded over a million dollars of product for dozens of public defender offices and indigent defense nonprofits across the United States. Apply for the grant.
